Diabetic & Endocrine Clinic
Diabetes and obesity currently threaten the health, well-being and economic welfare of virtually every country in the world. Today, over 150 million people are suffering from diabetes worldwide while over 300 million people are estimated to be obese. As a result, up to 1.7 billion of the world’s population is at an increased risk of other life-threatening diseases such as heart attacks and strokes.
Diabetes
Diabetes is a condition where the blood glucose (sugar) rises. It can, over years, cause complications.
This risk can be reduced by healthy eating, exercise, controlling weight, blood glucose, blood pressure and cholesterol levels. It is due to lack or imbalance of body insulin (a hormone). The specialty of hormone disorders is called Endocrinology.
Our efforts in the area of metabolic diseases are focused on using the most recent and effective products for the treatment of type-2 diabetes and obesity.
Endocrine and Metabolic Problems
In addition to disorders of the pancreas, endocrine problems include thyroid, adrenal, ovarian and pituitary disease. We also care for people with metabolic problems (disorders of body chemistry) such as high calcium or high cholesterol and lipids. Many patients have a mixture of endocrine and metabolic problems.
In our clinic we provide:
- Early screening and treatment of endocrine, metabolic and diabetic diseases related to obesity.
- Screening of endocrine disorders causing obesity.
